Caisson dredging system

TMS of Werkendam has delivered an extremely innovative caisson dredging system to Volker Stevin.

Lowering a caisson into the soil to the required depth has been hard work under high pressure. The soil below had to be removed manually from the space below the caisson which is pressurized to prevent the caisson from lowering uncontrollably.

TMS has delevoped a dredging system that can be lowered through a purpose built manhole that can automatically dredge the soil below the caisson and thus lower the caisson to the required depth. Hycos has designed and delivered the hydraulic drive system as well as the control system to operate the system.

Hycos becomes part of the Hydrauvision Group

On 1 January 2017, Hydrauvision took over industry partner Hycos from Raamsdonksveer. The takeover means that Hydrauvision continues to expand its position in the sector.

Hycos specialises in maritime hydraulic drive systems. The company also possesses considerable knowledge and experience in the field of mobile fire fighting systems. This ties in closely with Hydrauvision’s expertise. The business, originally from Zeeland, has grown to become a leading specialist in the area of complete hydraulic drives and related controls. Hydrauvision has five branches in the Netherlands and Flanders. The headquarters are based in Schoondijke.

The Hycos takeover allows Hydrauvision to bundle the available knowledge and provide a broader engineering capacity to both companies’ clients. The takeover also makes product diversity and extended service capacity possible. This is perfectly consistent with Hydrauvision’s vision for the future.

Hycos will continue to operate independently under its own name with support provided by Hydrauvision. The contact details remain unchanged. This means that Hycos (www.hycos.nl) can be reached on telephone number +31 162 582323 and Hydrauvision (www.hydrauvision.com) on telephone number + 31 88 5747000.

Waterking !

This summer Hycos has delivered its first powerpack to Waterking.

Waterking designs and builds amphibious dredging equipment. In this case equipped with a DAMEN DOP 200 driven by a Hycos diesel powerpack. The powerpack is controlled from the crane cabin.

The test at Waterking was succesful and we hope that this new Waterking machine attracts many new customers !

Tier 3 / Stage 3a engines available

Hycos still has a couple of brand new Caterpillar C 15 and C 9 engines available. These engines were building in 2013 and are legal to will be building into a new power unit. This can save you a lot of money and the trouble of running a Tier 4F set.

The Cat C 15 has 444 kW of power, the C 9 has 280 kW maximum power output.

Call us for a quotation of a powerpack based on one of these engines!

700 BAR powerpacks

We recently delivered 2 jacking powerpacks suitable to drive a number of high pressure jacks.

These small compact jacking sets are capable of driving 12 jacks simultaneously, with an advanced PLC control system capable of controlling the speed of the jacks. A frequency drive controls the pump volume whilst on /off valves decides which jacks extend.

All components are designed for 700 bar use.

Hitachi 1200 EX conversion

Hycos has received an order for the conversion of 2 Hitachi 1200 EX crawler cranes from Hitachi Netherlands. The contract was signed on April 28th by Mr. Pieter Weerts, Director of Hitachi Netherlands, and Mr. Sander Jorissen, Director of Hycos.

The cranes will be adapted for use on the new Van Oord fall pipe vessel “Bravenes“.

This includes the conversion from diesel drive to electrical drive, replacing the diesel engine by a water cooled electric motor, fitting a large diameter rotator for power supply, cooling and signal cabling. Furthermore, the control handles of the crane will be converted to electrical joysticks. Furthermore, Hycos will also deliver a remote control chair, allowing the operators to operate the cranes from a central control room instead of the crane cabin.

This order confirms the long relationship between Hitachi and Hycos for the electrical drive conversion of Hitachi cranes.

Winches with powerpacks from stock

Hycos has teamed up with MES trading to be able to offer winches and powerpacks from stock. This provides a simple and economic solution for several winch sizes.

The powerpacks are built in several versions: CE, non-CE, and a version suitable to drive 4 winches.

10 T winch system

Pipe cleaning tool

An innocent name for a large drilling system , 10 m tall, 3,5 m in diameter, designed to clear the inside of windmill foundation piles.

The inside of these piles has to be cleared after they have been driven into the seabed to be able to place the jacket in the piles.

The system consists of the drill, the hose reel with a 120 m long hose bundle, and the powerpack / control room.
