Hycos has recently supplied the controls and the hydraulics for a new DOP dredger from Damen Dredging Equipment. 

The DOP dredger is an innovative new dredging concept from Damen dredging equipment, that couples a simple easy to transport pontoon to the familiar Damen DOP pump. 

The DOP is mounted on a ladder frame, and has a cutter unit, enabling this dredger to operate as a cutter dredger. However, the concept is flexible, it is also possible to lower the DOP from the ladder and operator from larger depths. 

The dredger has an accomodation container, on which the control cabin is located. The hydraulic powerpack is located on the back of the dredger and drives both the DOP and all winches, as well as the auxiliary crane. 

The main driver is a Caterpillar C-18 diesel engine, which complies with the European and US emission standards. The powerpack also contains a genset, to support the vessel power grid. 

Damen and Hycos will give the customer’s operators training before the vessel is put into operation, ensuring successful operation from the start.
